Win the Trojan war

Total War Saga: Troy is a strategy and simulation game that will take you to the battlegrounds of the infamous Trojan War. Going up against the Greeks, Trojans, or the Olympian gods themselves, players will get to experience how to build and manage a rising civilization and lead them towards victory.

Going by the book

Following the events of Homer’s epic The Iliad, Total War Saga: Troy has all the characters, settings, and unforgettable scenes included in the game. Still, players are given the chance to venture outside the storyline that everyone’s familiar with. You can choose a civilization to lead and a character to play as. From here, you can also either stay true to the storyline but you can also try and change the turn of events—although the game will not let you stray from the original events too much.

While those that transpired in the epic will guide the progression of the game, the real fun lies in its sandbox elements. Total War Saga: Troy will let you build cities, houses, training grounds, and worship temples. Similar to other strategy games like Age of Empires II, your civilization will be composed of different game characters like warriors, builders, and normal citizens.

Greek gods will also come to play, although they will not be active participants in the game. Total War Saga: Troy really does try to stay true to the epic’s mythical elements. The worship temples you will be building are not just decorations. Your people will make use of them to try and be in the gods and goddesses’ good graces. If your people are blessed, you have better chances of winning the war.

Experiencing The Iliad

The game’s graphics are wonderful and beautifully created. It captures the 8th century in its colors, designs, and art style. Watching and seeing the animated scenes will make you feel like you are watching a historical movie instead of playing a game. Total War Saga: Troy is both glorious and ancient that it might make you feel like reading Homer's epic again.

An Epic Game

Total War Saga: Troy is an enjoyable game to play, especially for literature geeks. As mentioned above, it will not restrict its players from straying a bit from the original storyline, but letting it run its real course is not a bad thing at all. Additionally, how you want to win the war is entirely up to you! Total War Saga: Troy will not stop you from trying to devise plans like secretly infiltrating enemy camps and planning assassinations.
